MIAMI, FL – Expect the unexpected may become the new normal during the 2020 Presidential campaign. With the first shakeup going to the Democrat camp and the about face the party has done for the hotly anticipated debate next week. “It started as a joke,” said Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Emily Rossman, speaking about the decision to turn the debate into a quasi Hunger Games challenge for the candidates. “There are just so many qualified candidates this time around we’re afraid the American people will lose interest if they have to listen to two days worth of political talking points from all of them.” According to Rossman there will be 10 matches and the winner from each round will automatically advance to the July debate in Detroit, Michigan. Each match will be designed to challenge the candidates mentally and physically, but unlike in the Hunger Games, the nomination hopefuls will not literally be eliminated by other competitors. A decision some candidates are not happy about. Given that political candidates are often willing to bend the rules in order to get votes and win elections Rossman has indicated that they will be heavily moderating the games and that excessive force and violence will not be tolerated and may mean immediate disqualification. We just wonder who will be monitoring the monitors.
